Now is the time! We are deep in the heart of planting season and we wanted to share some of our “Feed Store” favorite seeds and plants. Sherry’s Favorites include Top Crop green beans, QuickPick peas, Celebrity tomatoes and of course jalapeños but not because they are hot but because she makes Jalapeno Jelly with them. Joey likes it hot with Long Thin Cayenne and Jalapeno peppers. He also likes Big Boy and Better Boy Tomatoes for slicing. Pat, on our weekend crew, likes to plant Blue Lake green beans, Roma tomatoes (a nice Italian type), and mild Tam Jalapeños, which are more about the flavor than the heat. Julie likes to plant the colored bell peppers like Yellow Bell, Fat n’ Sassy, and Purple Bell because they are expensive at the grocery store and she also likes small tomatoes like Sweet 100’s or Sweet Million and Sweet Banana peppers because her kiddos like them.
