Every week in May, we highlight one of our favorite products at Fleming Farm and Ranch Supply!  Each featured product is something you may need now as the weather heats up and more pests appear outside, it may be a new product we are carrying, an item that is on sale, or it just may be a product we think you plain just need to know about!

Here are our Featured Items of the Week for May:

May 2 – Skeeter Skreen Patio Egg  – We have a fabulous product to repel mosquitoes at Fleming Farm and Ranch Supply, the Skeeter Screen Patio Egg.  Have you ever tried to enjoy the outdoor evenings only to have to run for cover indoors to stop the biting?  The Patio Egg is an easy, safe, DEET free and effective way to help deter mosquitoes and other biting insects from your patio and other outdoor living areas.  1 egg will cover a 200-300 square foot patio area.  A Dallas firefighter was in the store last year and mentioned that they use the Patio Egg in their firehouse.  She gave her own personal testimonial that they work great and even bought some for her home!

May 9 – Snake Repellent  – Lots of rain, also means lots of snakes are out! We’ve got a few options to help with keeping snakes away. Bonide Snake Stopper naturally drives snakes away from yards, gardens, patios, sheds and woodpiles. We’ve got Bonide Snake Stopper 1lb or 4lb shaker cans. It is safe for areas where children and pets play.  The more economical route would be Hi-Yield powdered sulfur in 4lbs. or 25lbs., and moth balls. Other ways to deter snakes are by keeping the yard and flower beds cleaned, trimmed and free of debris because snakes like to find places to hide. Also, controlling their food source like mice in barns and out buildings helps too!

May 16 – Bermuda & Centipede Seed for Lawns  – It’s time to put grass seed out for your lawn. We have Bermuda grass seed and Centipede grass seed. Bermuda is an ideal choice for a full sun lawn. Centipede grass seed is low maintenance, drought tolerant and will grow in full or partial shade lawns. We have both at Fleming Farm and Ranch Supply. May 23 – Over ‘n Out Fire Ant Killer  – A convenient fire ant killer. We recommend Over ‘n Out for the yard. One application provides 6 months of Fire Ant protection. It kills the mounds and the queen. We carry the 11.5 lb bag that covers 5,000 square feet and the 23 lb. bag that covers 10,000 square feet.

May 30 – Fly Control  – One of our favorite brands for fly control on horses is from Pyranha.  We stock almost their entire line of oil based, water based, and natural products.  For fly control on cattle, we are a fan of Cattleman’s Choice 1% Permethrin Synergized Pour on.  We use it on our own cattle!
